Allen's Bio
Allen is called with a passion and skill to minister God's presence through praise and worship to His people and see a suffering humanity touched and changed by the power of God for healing and ministry as God manifests His Spirit through signs and wonders and ministry. God wants to move in your life and change you by His love! Back in the "Jesus Movement" he received Jesus as His Lord. At that time he attended the monthly miracle meetings in Pittsburgh with Kathryn Kuhlman. In fact, his first Sunday school teacher was healed of M.S. at one of those meetings being healed and receiving sight and getting out of a wheel chair to health.
Allen started singing solos in church at age 5 - piano lessons, trumpet lessons, majored on music in college (B.S.) - steered in the wrong direction for a period of time playing clubs and then marvelously saved and attended Christ for the Nations Institute after reading an article by John G. Lake on the power of the Holy Spirit and healing. Worship Leader and in charge of band while student at CFNI. Member of Christian rock band touring US and Canada. Ran a music service for 4 Christian schools - can you imagine 4 Christmas musicals...eek! Ministered at traditional churches leading choirs and music instrumental groups (band) to contemporary worship services. Worship leader for conferences in Baltimore/Washington Area. Pastored and pioneered a church in Maryland for 4 years. Was Head, Music Department at Liberty Christian College and Music Pastor at Liberty Church, Pensacola, FL (morning attendance 1900) where he sponsored worship conferences, musical productions - adult, children's, and a 30 member full band/orchestra that would flow in the Spirit. Executive Board member for worship ministry conducting conferences in the Southeast U.S.. Having grown up in Maryland, he and his wife, Nancy, moved back to Maryland after living in Florida and Arizona for many years. They have two wonderful grown sons and one granddaughter. Played and studied trumpet throughout high school and college and studied with Carmine Caruso in NYC, a master teacher on brass.
Currently lead worship and conduct clinics at large and small sized churches in the Northeast. Help worship teams from traditional to "Chris Tomlin" style and contemporary worship groups. Gives instruction on voice, keyboard, guitar, and EWI. (can give lessons via internet - Skype) Lead worship vocally with either keyboard or guitar. Allen plays flute as well as EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument) accompanying his home studio tracks. He teaches and coaches worship teams and sound teams in various aspects from improving vocals and playing their instrument, to practicing the presence of God.
Currently I'm updating my acoustic guitar skills by taking Skype lessons from the main guitar instructor at IHOP-KC. What a privilege to take lessons from him. He's very organized, totally talented, and a very skilful musician who can instruct others - and is a great guy as well! How awesome!
